Venus with a Mirror by Titian

Venus, goddess of love, admires herself in a mirror held up by Cupid while a second Cupid crowns her with flowers. Titian kept this canvas in his studio until he died and used it as a model for other versions.

Look at the reflection: we see only part of her face, one dark eye looking back at us rather than at herself. Like the Alba Madonna, it was sold from the Hermitage to Andrew Mellon in 1931.
