Collection/1800s

Also from Hokusai’s Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji. Here the mountain fills the frame, turned red by early-morning sun in late summer, with a pattern of clouds in a blue sky behind it.
The print’s nickname is Red Fuji. Early impressions show a softer pink and more gradation in the blue; later printings got bolder and redder.
