Breezing Up (A Fair Wind) by Winslow Homer

A man and three boys race home across choppy water in a small sailboat named Gloucester, the boat heeling in a fresh wind. Winslow Homer painted it between 1873 and 1876.

It was shown at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia and became an instant favorite. Look at the boy lying back along the side as a counterweight, and the dark schooner on the horizon.
